Program Outcomes

Program Educational Objectives (PEO):

Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program will:

PEO1 - Obtain technical positions and work competently in professional careers related to the field of mechanical engineering.

PEO2 - Have the skills and abilities to make a seamless transfer or advancement to higher level mechanical engineering or related educational programs and are well prepared for professional growth and upward mobility.

PEO3 - Be able to perform as team players, communicate and work well with others including those from diverse cultures, and practice ethical behaviors in the workplace.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLO):

Each student of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program will demonstrate the following attributes:

LO1 – Acquire the ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve well-defined engineering problems appropriate to mechanical engineering technology careers.

LO2 – Acquire the ability to design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the engineering design of systems, components, and processes appropriate to mechanical engineering technology careers.

LO3 – Acquire the ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in well-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate literature in the field of mechanical engineering technology.

LO4 – Acquire the ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments; and to analyze and interpret the results.

LO5 – Acquire the ability to function effectively as a member of a technical team.
